This form is worded to describe acceptable garbage and recycling practices for both storage during the week and for garbage day (i.e. municipal pickup). When you have new tenants to either your rental home, apartment, condo, or property, they can be a bit confused on when garbage day is and where to leave their garbage for pick up and/or what items will or will not be taken.
Garbage is one of those irritants that can quickly become a costly expense for the landlord. Ultimately as a landlord, you’ll be responsible for tenant garbage left recklessly, or on the wrong day and thus attracting pests. This form is a notice that is worded to confirm the tenant’s responsibility for their own garbage, garbage storage, and proper garbage bin procedures.
Note: Use the Clean Up Form if you’re looking for a warning/violation form. This form is designed as a general notice only.
Why Do I Need This Form?
- Clearly spell out where to store garbage, what is acceptable garbage to leave out on garbage day, and when to put it out
- Remind tenant’s that garbage is a health and safety issue and failure to follow instructions is unacceptable
- Provides a clear record of instructions given directly to the tenant in case of future disputes.
