My name is Andrew, and I’m a recovering landlord. Okay, well I suppose you never really recover from being a landlord, right? Joking aside, it’s not easy being a landlord. And it’s even harder to find the right tools a landlord needs to run a successful business – like forms. In many jurisdictions, the onus is on the landlord to ensure correct forms are filled, processed, and stored for reference. In the Landlord-Tenant relationship, a wise landlord with proper forms and procedures is a prosperous and successful one.
I know I’ve learned that lesson the hard way. In a world of he-said-she-said, correctly documenting even the most innocuous situation can later become extremely important. And so, now, the very same forms, documents, notices, letters, declarations, checklists, contracts, tip sheets, applications and more, I am now sharing with all of you. Each of our products is a creation I currently use. I’ve run a successful rental property business based in large part on properly managing the Landlord-Tenant relationship.
My mission is rooted in the belief that “most landlords and tenants are good people who want to do the right thing”. When problems or tensions arise, it’s almost always an issue of communication, confusion, and carelessness. I believe that in order to facilitate a positive landlord-tenant experience, landlords must take the effort to use proper tools and address concerns head-on and pre-empt problems down the road with clear, concise, and candid forms.
As an entrepreneur at LandlordForms.ca, I am proud to apply my knowledge, experience, and comfort with landlord-specific forms and contracts to the products we sell. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve run into fellow landlords who’ve struggled to find forms that fit their specific needs and are not written in legal jargon that few can interpret. As an Ontario landlord myself, I’ve struggled with forms a great deal. I’m pleased to offer all of the very same forms, notices, and contracts that I use personally to all Ontario, Canada, and US landlords out there who are in need.
I believe in each and every one of the products I sell. But I also believe that no two rentals are alike. In that spirit, I’ve made each and every one of my forms 100% customizeable. So you can use it as-is, or edit it to your heart’s content until it has the voice and intent you wish to project to your tenants.
I’m not a lawyer and I don’t make any claims in that regard (see Disclaimer). My forms aren’t meant to replace legal forms. Rather, they are a supplement or a stop-gap that can help diffuse or resolve a situation BEFORE you need to pull out the heavy guns and go the legal route. I do care a great deal about landlording and making communication paramount in the landlord-tenant relationship. Not only is it the right thing to do, positive for all parties, but it also helps the bottom line over the long-term as well. And that’s worth it alone!
